About the boat

Why did you choose to buy this particular boat and what else did you consider?
We considered a Morgan Catalina 381, Endeavor 38 & 42, Beneteau 49cc. We chose this boat because of its huge cockpit, wide beam, interior layout and sugar scoop, BNR rigged, and furling main.

What boats have you previously owned?
Catalina 27, Erickson 26, Endeavor 33.

What are the features you like most about your boat?
Large cockpit, wide beam, sugar scoop, furling main, & interior layout.

What features/improvements have you added or do you plan to add?
We have added solar/davits and new cockpit cushions. We also converted starboard door access to the aft cabin into a pantry for the galley, added a new windless/anchor, replaced the factory with a drawer Isoterm, and added a potable water maker. Additionally we installed UVA form flooring in the cockpit, and installed a new hot water heater.

Where have you traveled with your boat?/what do you have planned?
Abocos, Bahamas, Key West, FL Bimini, Bahamas, Berry Islands, Bahamas, & Exuma, Bahamas

What is the biggest challenge you have in servicing your boat?
Finding available parts.

Who first introduced you to boating?
My parents.

Do you have any advice for those looking to buy a whaler like yours?
We love this boat; make sure the previous owners have taken care of the engine.

What’s the story behind the boat’s name?
It is Swahili for beautiful woman who likes to pamper herself.

Any recent boating-related purchase you’ve been enjoying (e.g. product/tool/equipment etc)?
We are currently cruising the Bahamas and are happy to have a new dinghy and outboard.

Windy, Predict Wind, Chris Parker, Garmin Blue Charts, Navonics, Aquamaps.
